I work full time and my time is divided between studios in Dublin and Mayo. Paintings from Mayo reflect the isolation, windswept shores, boglands and wild Atlantic Ocean.

 

 

This untamed, wild, uninhibited, colourful spirit, as much reflected in the Irish people as in its landscape, is the reason why I moved here in the early 1980's. Although I am Dutch, my work is much more influenced by Irish painters such as Brian Maguire, Basil Blackshaw, Camille Souter, Sean McSweeney and Barry Cooke.
